Experience and Research Interests

Kate has taught public high school for over 20 years and worked as a faculty associate for 2 years. Her Master's thesis proposed a new definition for giftedness that incorporated emotive as well as cognitive components. Kate's current research interests lie in the neuroscience and neuropsychology of emotion and its implications for neuropedagogy, specifically within the research field of educational neuroscience. Specific areas of research include emotional contagion and emotion regulation. She is the Outreach Coordinator for ENGRAMMETRON and is available to present workshops for pre-service teachers, parent groups, and teachers.
